Carolina Beach State Park is a beautiful 950 acre nature preserve on the banks of the Cape Fear River. Sugarloaf Dune rises 56' above the river and the view is great. The 2-mile round trip hike takes you through marshes, beaches and maritime forest.

There are thousands of acres of pristine salt marsh and tidal creeks between Fort Fisher and Bald Head Island. Touring by kayak is the best way to see it. You can go by yourself or go with a guide.
